The heat is the same feeling of warmth as the winter sun

WHAT IS INFRARED HEATING?

Infrared heaters work by converting electricity into radiant heat. The heat is the same feeling of warmth as the winter sun on your face and the heat from a coal fire. Infrared is the direct transfer of heat from the heater to the object (you and the area around you) without heating the air in between. By targeting you, rather than the air means that electric infrared heaters are among the most energy efficient outdoor forms of heating, transferring heat up to 80% more efficiently that classical convective heaters.

FAQ'S

Frequently Asked Questions

A number of factors will determine the running costs of your electric patio heater: most significantly, the efficiency of the heater you choose, the level of heat you need for comfort, and the terms of your electricity tariff.
The level of protection against water required by your patio heater will depend entirely on the intended fitting location. The majority of our outdoor infrared heaters are classified as weatherproof, with an IP rating of IP23 or higher. This is sufficient for fitting in most domestic outdoor locations – the right choice for an ordinary back garden. Check individual product pages to find the IP ratings of our heaters.
All of our outdoor infrared heaters are suitable for commercial use.

Heat up times for patio heaters range from instantaneous to up to 5 minutes, depending on the intensity of the heat output.

Infrared heaters which give off visible light provide heat instantaneously, at the touch of a button, making them ideal for back gardens and pub terraces where you need on-demand heat.

Installation information for each product can be found on individual instruction manuals provided. All of our heaters come with a 2.5m or 1.6m cord and a UK 3 pin 13amp Plug. It is personal choice if you would like to have your heater hard-wired in by a qualified electrician.

You’ll find a range of heating control devices at DG Heaters, suitable for outdoor heaters in both domestic and commercial locations. Our collection ranges from basic push-start buttons to remote controllers which you can use to control your outdoor heating from a central location.

Yes, you can. Lots of our customers do this. This is usually an excellent place to mount your new heater as long as they are mounted in accordance with our instruction manual.
